How the shoe finder works
Tell us how you run
Where you run, what the shoe is for, how you like it to feel, your feet and your budget.
We narrow the field
Every answer rules out shoes that don't suit you. You'll watch the list shrink as you go.
Compare your two best matches
Two shoes side by side, with fit, feel, reviews, videos and the best current prices, so choosing is easy.

Every shoe here is in a brand's current lineup. We review the range every month: new releases go in, discontinued models come out, and prices, videos and reviews are refreshed. Last updated this month.
A running shoe finder that does the research for you
Choosing running shoes is hard. There are well over a hundred current models, each brand updates its range every year, and reviews rarely agree. RunShoeRotation is a free running shoe finder that cuts through it. Tell us how and where you run, and the shoe finder quiz scores every current model on cushioning, stability, drop, width, weight, plate and price to find the running shoes that suit you best.
Instead of one answer, you get your two best matches. Two strong options make the choice easier: you can compare fit, feel and price side by side, see what critics and owners say, watch video reviews, then pick the one you like the look of or that's on offer today.
Questions runners ask
How does the running shoe finder work?
You answer up to 15 quick questions about where and how you run, how you like a shoe to feel, your feet, your weight and your budget. Each answer scores every current running shoe from the major brands on things like cushioning, stability, drop, width, weight and price. The two shoes that suit you best are your matches.
Why do I get two shoes rather than one?
Two close matches give you a real choice. Fit and feel are personal, stock and prices change daily, and sometimes you simply prefer the look of one. You can compare both side by side and pick the one that suits you.
Is the shoe finder free and independent?
Yes. It's free and there's nothing to sign up for. We may earn a commission if you buy through our shop links, but that never affects your results: shoes are ranked only on how well they match your answers.
Which running shoe brands are included?
Nike, ASICS, HOKA, Brooks, Saucony, New Balance, On, adidas, PUMA, Mizuno, Altra, Salomon, Kiprun. Only shoes in each brand's current lineup are included.
How often is the list of shoes updated?
Every month. New releases are added, discontinued models are removed, and prices, video reviews and Reddit threads are refreshed.
Should I buy running shoes in my normal size?
Most running shoes fit true to size, but some run small or large. Each shoe page tells you which. Most runners like about a thumb's width of space beyond their longest toe.
Does it work outside the UK?
Yes. Prices and shops adapt for the UK, the US, Europe, Canada and Australia. You can change your country at the bottom of any page.
